CAVR Certification & Recertification

The Criteria for Certification is as follows:

  1. A member in good standing with CAVR
  2. Three (3) years experience in the profession (prior to application deadline date)
    • Years in administration of Volunteer Resources;
    • Work history for past five (5) years
  3. Personal philosophy on volunteerism
  4. Demonstrated leadership in Volunteer Management
  5. Fifty (50) hours of workshop and/or course study in professional development
  6. Demonstration of knowledge and experience in volunteer resource administration by submitting two (2) written papers. Send one (1) hard copy and one (1) electronic copy of each paper, with your ID number in the upper right corner. Please do not indicate your name or the name of your organization in the paper.

Deadline Date: Postmarked no later than February 28th

The Criteria for Recertification is as follows:

  1. A member in good standing with CAVR
  2. Twenty-five (25) hours of workshop and/or course study in continuing education in the past three (3) years
  3. A paper in either of the following subjects:
    • Current Challenges in the Field of Volunteer Administration
    • Biggest Challenge in Administering Volunteers and how you overcame it
  4. A minimum of 75% of grading requirement

Deadline Date: Postmarked no later than December 31st
