National Volunteer Week
Planning & Communication Tools
If you haven’t yet worked with the media, you may be surprised to find that they are very receptive to your story ideas. Your local media takes pride in being the voice of your community and relies not only on their staff to find stories worth covering, but on the community itself. When “pitching” a story or event to the media, think about the most compelling reason why you find it worth covering, and use that as the basis of your pitch.
National Volunteer Week Resource Kit
The National Volunteer Week Resource kit has information to help you plan, organize and celebrate National Volunteer Week activities with volunteers in your community.
This kit contains media campaign tools that will help you determine what kind of media campaign is right for your community.
You may choose to use just a few, or ideally, all of these components to promote National Volunteer Week. See links below to generate ideas or find samples to use as templates.
