An Introduction to Integrated Human Resources

Volunteer Alberta is presenting at The Buck Starts Here in Lethbridge on November 20, 2008. This 2nd annual event, provided by the Lethbridge Community Foundation, will see Cheryl Humphrey (Projects Consultant for Volunteer Alberta) talk about Integrated Human Resources – It’s Over Due….New Thinking Around Involving People In Your Organization.

Integrated Human Resources (IHR) is a strategically planned approach to identifying the work functions that need to be accomplished in organizations and involving people – both paid and unpaid to perform the work needed to achieve the mission. With the changing demographic trends in the voluntary sector and an understanding of the challenges that organizations face, the need to look at an IHR approach is critical for voluntary sector organizations. This workshop will explore how to develop a culture in your organization to support this approach and will also look at strategies you can employ to ensure you utilize the skills and talents that people (paid and unpaid) can bring to your organization.
