Celebrate International Women's Day (March 8) with Breakfast

PDF: Official Invitation

Dear Valued Women of Edmonton,

Do you ever think that if you could just have had an opportunity to chat with an elected decision-maker before government policy affected your organization or life that maybe they and you would have a different outcome and understanding?

Acknowledging the short notice (!) such an opportunity presents itself on March 8th from 7:15 – 9:00 am. You are cordially invited to a Women’s Only Breakfast on International Women’s Day.  This is a unique chance for 50 women of Edmonton and area to come together for a Women’s Only Breakfast and speak what’s on their mind.

Special guest,  Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Western Economic Diversification, is looking forward to a two-way conversation with you, the women of her community about your experiences, accomplishments, and concerns.

This is a limited attendance opportunity for a maximum of 50 women. (Of course, men are most welcome to sponsor the attendance of a young woman so that the next generation has both more elected decision makers and more access to decision makers!)  The cost is $125 per person. A tax receipt will be provided for the proceeds from the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters.

It is important to emphasize that this is a non-political event – it is an opportunity to facilitate a discussion on issues impacting community, voluntary and business sector leaders. This will be a private event not open to media.

As timing is tight and attendance factors are important, please respond directly to Volunteer Alberta, co-host of the event. This will be limited to the first 50 women confirming their attendance. Please contact Volunteer Alberta by calling 482.3300 by Tuesday, March 6 at 6:00 pm. Breakfast will be at a downtown location, to be confirmed upon receipt of your reply. We hope this rare opportunity will be of interest to you.

Respectfully,
Karen Lynch
Executive Director,
Volunteer Alberta

Jan Reimer
Provincial Coordinator,
