“Affordability and accessibility of insurance coverage affects Alberta’s 19,000 Nonprofit/Voluntary organizations. Volunteer Boards want to concentrate on meeting the mission of their organization whether it is social services, environmental awareness or amateur sports. Community Guard offers Boards that opportunity. Priced affordably, Community Guard packages insurance products, including Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, in one place – a place where The Co-operators understands the complexities, challenges, and unique needs of nonprofit community-based organizations.”
Karen Lynch, Executive Director, Volunteer Alberta

The Co-operators helps Nonprofit/ Voluntary Sector organizations maintain insurability by having their specially trained agents review their risk management practices. In addition, The Co-operators gives back to the community through a special Community Guard nonprofit fund and are easy to access with specially trained agents in the voluntary sector. However, since the program is a pilot project, only a few agencies are currently involved - please contact Volunteer Alberta for an agent near you.

Along with this initiative, they are subsidizing a first year Volunteer Alberta membership (Associate Level) for any Nonprofit/Voluntary Sector organization purchasing Community Guard. The
